Many thanks for publishing this Lanny.  There is an older auto-installer that destruk created, but that installer is now multiple versions out-of-date.  Hopefully you will remain an active member of our community and keep this version up-to-date.

I have made this topic sticky, and would appreciate some responses from users successfully making use of it to verify it works on other systems.

Thanks.

The link just takes me to uploaded.net.
There is nothing to download. I even copied and pasted the address but it goes back to upladed.net

Thanks

Hello there,

DAMM !! You were right !!  :) As you can see by the link, its the MANAGE link to manage the files...uuupppssss  ;)

I corrected it and please try again now...

Do not forget to give me feedback.

Just one point : I did not manage to set the path variable automatically, so please read the README file how to set the variable.

I tested the package several times and did not have any problems...

Well, I got it and started the install.

Was going well until i got to the setting up the config file. No idea what to do here.
I followed the link to the setup but it doesnt really explain what to do. Still very limited information on where you are supposed to put your projects. If you have multiple projects how do you handle that etc.

Do we install fonts?
Where should the projects be?
It would be helpful if there was a simple test game package that you could copy to your system and then you could see how to set it up. Unless I am just missing something.

Sorry for the newbe questions, I promise I am not stupid. lol

Morning Lonny,

Cool and gratulations to get to that config step which is one of the last steps (Folder 11  out of 13) !!  :) I also would have liked to be so fast there !!  :D

I would say that you continue with the last folders in the package and always read the information and follow the links for explanation and when you still have questions, I suggest you the well described "Getting Started" post from Gerry :

http://www.pinballcontrollers.com/forum/index.php?topic=281.0

Here we only discuss problems regarding this package and maybe that something is not working. For understanding, read the other post...

Please no sorries !!  :) I also had my difficulties... :D

Bye,

Lanny

I have my setup instructions for XP, including how to set up the config files along with examples, posted in this thread.  It sounds like you may want to start in the middle of step 2 or the beginning of step 3.  Hopefully this will help a bit with where the folders and files should be created, I admit this was a problem for me as well when I first set it up, but once you figure out how all the config files work it should go real easy. If you have specific questions after you look through that let me know.

Hi Lanny,

Does this install the various source too, along with the compilers and things in case people want to pull down a development version of things like libpinproc and pyprocgame?  Another piece that might be useful for people that are running a P-ROC in a regular pinball machine is to include the P-ROC enabled version of Pinmame with some instructions too.

At some point soon I need to rebuild an XP installation, but I need it to include the 2 items above.  (I also need the pinmame source, but I don't suppose that's useful for anyone else).

Would you like to include those 2 things in your setup?  I can help you work through them if you tell me what you need to know.......  I have both of them running on my XP laptop at the moment.

Morning Marc,

If everything is included in my package can answer the Python specialists in this forum when having a look at the package and all the files which are inside.

If you also want to have a pinmame integrated, maybe you should have a look at my other package called "Full MAME installation guide", which you can also download from my site.

Witht the version 1.3, you must now not do anything !  :) Just double click the different files and everything will executed...very easy...as I said before, just yesterday I completelty build up a new windows xp system, copied the new package on the system and run it...all fine !!  :)

Lanny, thanks very much for putting the package together.  I have just downloaded it, what is the password that is required to open the rar files?
